Buckwheat

Unique and rare buckwheat is grown on a small scale in Finland. Buckwheat seed is full of nutrients and other healthy bioactive elements. Buckwheat seed contain high-quality proteins, carbohydrates and flavonoids, especially rutins. This has been shown to have antioxidative activity. Production


In Finland the buckwheat producers keep their fields and facilities free from contamination with other grains and can offer thus safe ingredients for food industry.


There are some food producers and bakeries in Finland specialised in products made of buckwheat.
