Unique and rare buckwheat is grown on a small scale in Finland. Buckwheat seed is full of nutrients and other healthy bioactive elements. Because buckwheat seed does not contain any gluten it is a suitable ingredient for bakery and other cereal products in diets for gluten sensitive people such as coeliac patients.  

Production

In Finland the buckwheat producers keep their fields and facilities free from contamination with other grains and can offer thus safe ingredients for food industry.

There are some food producers and bakeries in Finland specialised in products made of buckwheat.
